What are the chances of not catching hpv from person who's infected when you have unprotected sex?

Not good: But don't worry! hpv is very common and highly contagious. If you know you have been exposed to it, get regular pap smears and follow up as directed by your doctor.

Overall low risk: HPV is very common; all sexually active people are infected at least once, usually many times. If the partner has previously been infected with the same strain, s/he is immune to new infection. Transmission risk for just a single exposure probably is low. Most infections remain asymptomatic and harmless. See doctor if symptoms (e.g. warts) develop. Otherwise sit tight and don't worry about it.
