It's complicated...: Each institution has its own standard meal ; imaging protocol for gastric emptying studies. Each institution also has it's own normal database to compare to. Therefore, there is no exact number for normal t1/2. It depends on the meal and normal database for that institution. Currently a newer standardized meal / protocol is being implemented so values can be compared across institutions.
