A member asked:

My son is of 14 years. he has heavy boobs.his weight is 82 kg. his t3 (liothyronine) is .61ng/ml and testosterone; total, serum is 20.72 mg/dl. what should i do.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pediatric endocrine: He should see a pediatric endocrinologist. Without a good history and physical exam, not sure if this could be delayed puberty + obesity, obesity alone, syndromic, or other hormone abnormality. Testosterone is low, but makes no sense without knowing lh, fsh, other hormones, and stage of puberty. Total T3 (liothyronine) is not helpful.
