A member asked:

Hi. i heard that grapefruit juice can be a problem with my artovastin pills. is that true? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may increase the absorption of Atorvastatin from the GI tract causing more of the drug to end up in the bloodstream. This may lead to increased adverse effects on the liver and kidney. It's best not to drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits, tangelos, or seville oranges while you're on the medication.
