A member asked:

While pregnant is it safe to use clindamycin phosphate 2% topically? is topical differin (adapalene) safe while pregnant?

It is safe.: Yes. It is safe to use Clindamycin topical. It is also safe to use differin (adapalene), (adapalene) even though drug info suggests "precautious, category-c for pregnancy". Just use common sense, how likely it would be that differin (adapalene) being absorbed through skin and causing systemic (side) effect? None ever reported.

Debate: Clindamycin should be fine. Differin, (adapalene) a retinoid, is not advised. There is some debate but you should avoid retinoids.
