TKA: Firstly pt is important if this does not work then manipulation of the knee can be done. You also have to be very active in stretching etc...

Exercise: After total knee replacement, exercises are needed to restore motion in the knee. These are started immediately and include stretching and muscle strengthening. This will be uncomfortable but necessary to restore movement. If stiffness remains a problem after 6 weeks, a manipulation under anesthesia (bending the knee while you are asleep) can be done to improve motion.
