Could be: CMV is a virus, and like most viruses there can be related irritation to the nerves. The nerves that control swelling as well as the skin texture are related to the autonomic nervous system.

Doubtful: Could be but i suggest you see your doctor for more evaluation. That much edema is a bit concerning. Those are not symptoms typically seen with cmv.
