What is the antibiotic used to combat klebsiella, e coli & non enteroccal strep found in poorly healed lower abdominal post op wound. patient is diab?

Infected?: Open surgical wounds will always grow bacteria upon culture but are not always infected per se. If the wound is red and is discharging pus, it requires therapy and may need to be opened for better drainage. Antimicrobials can be chosen based on the sensitivity patterns of the isolates.

Start here : Your question tells me a culture has been done so antibiotic sensitivity was done. It will require at least two antibiotics. Strep may be insensitive to the popular 3rd generation cephalosporins. Retested by culturing a piece of tissue from the wound and start with pennicillin vk or possibly even penn g and tobramycin. With a 3rd agent if needed for the other two bugs. Get protein in diet....
