A member asked:

Where is arterial blood best taken from?why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Most arterial blood draws are from the wrist, since that's the biggest blood vessel that's close to the skin and away from any other major organs. Arterial blood gasses are the most common draw obtained. Other areas may be tested, but there will usually be a very good reason to do so (pre and post lung, etc).
