Dermatologist right: If these have been stable for 5 years, they are small scar nodules (dermatofibroma) which probably were caused by shaving or reaction to chemicals. They could be removed surgically if they bother you. If they ever get red, irritated or drain pus, this is a much more serious problem called hidradenitis and will require a plastic surgeon.

Possible: So you may want to try non chemical deodorants and or laser hair removal. On occasion salicylic acid (tendskin) may help minimize these inflamed bumps.
