Mucous excess: Usually a symptom of irritation or infection of mucous membranes that may be self limited as in seasonal allergies with mucous secretions in back of throat causing cough. Can affect sinuses, throat and even ears and eyes. Typically a nasal decongestants throat expectorants, steam humdification, nasal lavages may help lessen the symptoms. If prolonged symptoms or worsening condition, seek medical.
