Can i take prescription acne medication while pregnant?

No: Prescription medications for acne include topical treatments (such as tazorac (tazarotene) and retin-a), antibiotics, oral contraceptives and oral medications such as (accutane). Accutane, tazorac (tazarotene) and Retin-A should not be taken during pregnancy because they have been associated with severe birth defects particularly when taken in the first trimester.

Medication with preg: Some yes and some no. Benzoyl peroxide and Erythromycin are safe during pregnancy. Tetracycline derivatives and Accutane should never be used during pregnancy.
