Aftercare for CVA: Most strokes are caused by a clot or embolus in a brain artery. A full stroke work up should be done including a cardiac evaluation and carotid artery ultrasound. Various kinds of blood thinners may be advised. Physical therapy plays an important role in restoring function. BP and lipids should be well controlled.
