A member asked:

Can you get extremely bad cramps and bleeding if you are perimenapausal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Periods tend to get increasingly irregular as a women gets closer to menopause. The periods can get heavier or lighter, closer or further apart, and more or less painful. If the periods are getting very heavy and painful there may be something else going on - such as infection, a polyp or fibroid, for instance - so get this checked.
