A member asked:

My father will have a coronary angiography soon. how risky?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Low risk: About 1/10, 000 mortality. Most problems are in patients with severe disease which would soon be a problem anyway. Most problems are at the site of artery access and are not life threatening. If there is a suspicion of artery disease, the risks are typically far outweighed by the benefits.
