A member asked:

What are some lifelong health problems associated with anorexia nervosa?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: It depends when it started. If it began when the person had not yet stopped growing, growth can be stunted. Osteoporosis is common for those with anorexia nervosa. Almost any chronic disease will be exacerbated due to impairment in the bodies ability to heal itself. It is hard to think of a single organ system which would not be affected by anorexia nervosa. Eating disorders are deadly..!
