Depends on the cause: Swollen eyes can be due to allergy which is the most common cause of swollen eyes but it can also be caused by infection and can be a sign of underlying disese of kidneys, hormone related. So treatment depends on cause, you can try cold compresses and an over the counter anthistamine like benadryl, (diphenhydramine) Claritin or zyrtec, and if no improvement see your doctor.

COMBINED: Over the counter allergy eye-drops (allergan, murine, etc) and cool (not cold) compresses should take down the swelling.
