Possibly: Chewing tobacco certainly can stain teeth, however the tissue damage where the tobacco chew is held under the lip is more distinguisable and a dangerous warning sign.

Yellow teeth: Yellow teeth are not necessarily a sign of a tobacco chewing addiction. Many things can stain the teeth causing them to look yellow, such as coffee, tea, soda, red wine. Tooth whitening procedures may help to remove the stain and brighten up the teeth.

If you ask yes: The odds are that if you are asking this question, you may have several situations causing the yellowing, one of which is probably not seeing your dentist often and regularly. But most patients who ask me this are (and know it) addicted to tobacco. That dosent mean you are a terrible person, we all have habits we need to change. See your dr or dentist and see about medication to help you stop.

Chewing Tobacco (addicting) can discolor teeth as wall as being a carcinogenic agent. Think what it's doing to your lungs and GI tract. Chewing tobacco strongly implicated in various oral cancers. But any pigmented food can also discolor teeth (but without cancer risk).. Teeth can be whitened, but you need to quit chewing tobacco first.
