A member asked:

Do rheumatism and arthritis have the same food limitations on high protein foods?

No: There is no food diet that aggrevates RA or lessens it effects unless a patient has an allergy to a protein such as milk. This is very rare and we do not recommend elimination diets for ra. Gouty arthritsis can be aggrevated by high protein foods like beans which contian purines. We recommend hig diary protein and low red meat/fish diets for gout patients.
