Yes: The major risk is infections, including tuberculosis. Your doctor will want to screen you for past exposure to hepatitis b and TB because starting this medication. Other side effects include neurologic disorders, reduced blood counts and an increased risk of lymphoma. That said, biologics suchas Humira (adalimumab) are superb in reducing the inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and related disease.
