Avoid if possible.: This is a urine alkalinizing agent; if a urologist recommends it to prevent urolithiasis or urinary infections, i would discuss with a maternal-fetal medicine expert if the potential risks compare favorably to the potential benefits and explore alternatives. My general advice would be to avoid this agent when possible during pregnancy and only take it after expert consultation with urology and mfm.
