A member asked:

My kids have a cold: nasal congestion, and a fever. usually when they have a cold there is no fever. is this normal? if i get it will antibiotics help?

Colds are viral: Viral infections self heal over time. Antibiotics do nothing to change the life cycle of a virus & will not change its course. If a kid develops a secondary infection (ear infection, bronchitis, etc) then antibiotics help.

Maybe: What ou seem to be describing is probably a viral infection for which antibiotics are not recommended. The temperature accompaniment sounds like flu as well.
