What was the level?: Blood calcium is present in two forms, ionized and bound to albumin. Ionized calcium is the physiologically active form. Low levels of Albumin will result in low total calcium without any effect on the physiology. It would require knowing the actual calcium level and serum Albumin level to provide a meaningful opinion.
