Doctor can evaluate: For pain symptoms, a primary care doctor or an ob-gyn doctor can evaluate and do a breast exam to see is causing the problem. The doctor may order a breast mammogram or other imaging study, if necessary. If pain is in the skin, there may be irritation of the nerves to the area, as in the case of shingles (but a rash should break out soon).
