A member asked:

What are the implications when severe anemia and positive ana are combined?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both common: These two findings may be unrelated. One disorder that can explain both findings is systemic lupus with hemolytic anemia. However, i would not jump to that diagnosis without a proper history, physical examination and additional tests. See this site to find out the various types and causes of anemias. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0001586/.
