Gas: Could be many things, but functional pain in the setting gas is common. But if there are any other alarm symptoms or if it progresses further work-up is necessary so see a doctor.

May be stomach issue: Upper abdominal discomfort can come from many sources including the gallbladder, stomach, pancreas and liver. Tapping from inside is an unusual complaint, but any movement in the upper abdomen is likely related to the stomach or duodenum. So, regarding the stomach, reflux and ulcers can both cause pain and spasm and may slow digestion. Gallbladder disease and pancreatitis can have similar symptoms.
