A member asked:

Is it safe during pregnancy to use castor oil topically on your face to help with acne? more specifically, i'd like to use cold pressed castor oil.

Poor choice: Why use an ancient, not-very-effective folk medicine promoted by charlatans? The best over-the-counter acne remedy is benzoyl peroxide, but if it's bugging you enough to consider "cold-pressed" castor oil, see if your physician would add topical Clindamycin to peroxide. The birth control pill stops acne in many women who can use it, and there are other stronger rx's after baby comes.
