Burning can : Occur secondary to soft tissue injury like a ligament sprain. It is also possible a nerve was stretched and this is the resultant feeling. The idea would be to reduce any swelling, allow the injury to rest and then rehab it as needed. If the symptoms persist sometimes a local steroid is injected to the site of origin of the burning as one of the treatment options.
