A member asked:

Is surgery on a spine a risky procedure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All surgery has risk: Just that the risks are relative and related to one's age, underlying health & condition, habits like drug, alcohol & cigarette use, weight, ability to comply with medical advice, the diagnosis for which the surgery is indicated, the type of surgery, where the surgery is being done & by the skill & experience of the person doing the surgery. Primary surgery v revision surgery also is a factor.
