A member asked:

When someone's in a coma, do they feel trapped lying there or is it like a deep sleep?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No feeling: By definition, coma is absence of responsiveness to both internal & external stimulation. Therefor there is no conscious perception of self or environment. Coma is more alike to deep sleep, but even in deep sleep, responsiveness to the environment remains.
