A lot depends...: On where the break is at. If it is not into a joint, there should be some degree of worry about displacement as well. Rest, ice, compression, elevation and splinting will help. See a podiatrist for an x-ray and make sure it doesn't get worse.

Fractured toe: A broken toe or a fractured toe is the same thing. After your foot exam you get an x-ray to confirm the break. If the break is in place it can be strapped in place and you would wear a surgical shoe for six weeks. If the break is displaced it may have to be set or pinned. See a podiatrist for help.
