What causes tongue thrust?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tongue thrust: Many times this condition is caused by being tongue tied( the frenulum anchors the tongue to tightly to the floor of the mouth). The tongue can not reach the roof of the mouth (proper swollowing position) so the tongue thrusts forward durring swollowing. A simple frenectomy will usually cure this condition.
