What's the difference between tendonitis and tendinosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some details...: Tendinitis is inflammation of the tendon, resulting from micro-tears that happen when the musculo-tendinous unit is overloaded with a force that is too heavy and/or too sudden. Tendinosis is a degeneration of the tendon’s collagen in response to chronic overuse, especially when overuse is continued without giving the tendon time to heal (such as with repetitive strain injury like using a mouse).
