Fetal screening: Oscar stands for one-stop clinic for assessment of risk for fetal anomalies, particularly down syndrome. It is done during the first trimester of pregnancy, usually between 11-13 weeks. It includes a nuchal translucency test, which measures the amount of fluid behind your baby's neck, and blood tests for levels of free beta-hcg and pregnancy-associated plasma protein a (papp-a).
