Toothpaste: Use plain water on your brush as it is the mechanical action of the brush that removes the bacteria. Tp freshens your breath and has a polishing agent for stain. Alcohol is a main ingredient in many mouth washes, if you choose to swish after brushing and swallow instead of spitting not my recommendation but it will not hurt your teeth/gums. Thnk your liver/people smelling alcohol on you first am.

Better to brush: Better to brush with water to mechanically get rid of the food stuffs and plaque that have stuck to your teeth during the day or overnight. Rinse with water after to make sure the stuff that got off the teeth are now out of your mouth.

No: Put down the bottle and get some toothpaste! alcohol actually has a high sugar content and would be counter productive to use as a "dentrifice".
