Allergies, sinus etc: We have had several parents complaining on their 3-4-5 years old kids having bad breath. Our experience is that this is not caused my their gums or originating from the oral cavity, most of the time it would be a small object "stuck" in their nose. And, yes, kids do that... For 1 year old, i doubt it, but it will be a good idea to visit ENT and check nasal area for objects and deviated septum.
