No: Ultrasound is used to visualize retinal detachment. Ct & MRI may be used to look for tumors and/or foreign body if suspected.

Possibly: An MRI is not the best test for an rd and if you are worried about one, please see a retina specialist for an exam. Direct visualization is best method. If you have vitreous hemorrhage then an ultrasound would be indicated. Occasionally, an oct is beneficial to look for shallow fluid. Get an exam!
