Why does my ingrown toenail still hurt after i have taken it out?

Some possibilities: May be infected, portion of nail may still be ingrown or area might just be inflamed from previously ingrown nail affecting surrounding skin. If problem persists or worsens, see podiatrist.

Time will tell...: After any minor surgical procedure pain is common. Follow your physician instructions and the pain should significantly improve in the next few days. If you develop signs of infection or increased pain let them know and follow up as soon as possible.
