Common ones....: Typical symptoms: sore throat, fever of greater than 38 °c (100 °f), tonsillar exudates (pus on the tonsils), and large cervical lymph nodes. Other symptoms: headache, n/v, abdominal pain, muscle pain, or a scarlatiniform rash or palatal petechiae (small bleeding), the latter being an uncommon but highly specific finding. Consult doc if you have these symptoms..Good luck.

Strep carrier: People who are strep 'carriers' are colonized with the bacteria in their throats and intermittently can be symptom free. People who have recurrent sore throats and positive Rapid Strep swabs might want to be checked for this by having a throat culture performed when no symptoms are present.
