I cracked a rib coughing almost a year ago and occasinally it hurts almost as bad as when i first did it. should i be concerned?

Yes: If it hurt you should be concern.It meams that the fracture may have develop a condtion called.A non union of the fr.You need to see a physician to order the proper diagnostic studies(ct scam of the ribs) to stablish the proper diagnosis and if that is the case the proper treament.
