Little hard: It take about 8-16 weeks some people experience a lot of pain in the early stage up to 3 weeks and the initial period of physical therapy.

Keep your head up.: Recovery is variable. You will be in a sling for about 6 weeks but physical therapy and improving range of motion are critical. I agree the first few weeks are rough, better by week 3-6 and fully recovered in most cases by 4-6 months. Its a slow process but worth having the function back. I speak from first hand experience as a patient. I'm scheduled to fix the other side this month.
