No pain or locking: Meniscus tears cause pain in the knee in the area it is located. It often will cause a sensation of locking where the knee can not be straightened out. Movement if bending and twisting of the knee will also cause pain.If you have these symptoms and they go away thats positive but meniscal tears rarely heal in the true sense. Arthroscopic surgery is necessary to make it truly better.
