How risky/dangerous is a liver transplant?

It depends: Liver transplant is more risky than most elective surgeries but it is also the only solution to address end stage liver failure. Call your local transplant support group( s) and discuss your specific concerns with your txp ctr.

Less than not: If you need a liver than a transplant is less risky than the risk of death from the bad liver. Most do quite well. You will be well informed with the transplant team.
