Yes: Having herpes or suspicion for it increases the possibility of having hpv as well which can cause dysplasia of the cervix. It is wise for your doctor to take a close look at your cervix and make sure all is clear in this setting. A colposcopy also give a good look at everything to make sure all other things are clear. Go for it.
