A member asked:

Would my doctor schedule me for a colpscopy if she thought i had herpes? wouldn't she just say i need a herpes test i see sores and blisters?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Having herpes or suspicion for it increases the possibility of having hpv as well which can cause dysplasia of the cervix. It is wise for your doctor to take a close look at your cervix and make sure all is clear in this setting. A colposcopy also give a good look at everything to make sure all other things are clear. Go for it.
