Not exactly . . . : Valium and similar meds are not meant to get rid of all anxiety. They're meant to take the edge off disabling symptoms -- while the person deals with the actual sources of anxiety, in psychotherapy. Your mind and psychology affect your biology, and vice versa. Relying on valium alone is like painting the outside of a house, but not fixing the leak inside. Do the work, & your life will improve.
