Follow closely: Your situation tells me that your last menstrual period date was not reliable in dating your pregnancy, mostlikely due to irregular periods. At 5 weeks gestation, we don't see the embryo so the gestational age is based on the sac size. You should have another ultrasound done in 1-2 weeks to verify that pregnancy is progressing normally and the embro with the heartbeat can be measured.
