Go see your doctor: I assume you're referring to TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) of 17+ (normal is 0.45-4.5 or thereabouts depending upon your lab's reference range). The doctor who ordered test should also be able to treat you by prescribing levothyroxine. You should get your TSH rechecked every 6 weeks & make adjustments to your levothyroxine dose as necessary until your dose is stable for at least 2 lab tests.
