R S D: The sympathetic nerves control blood flow and sweating and color of the skin. When the sympathetic nerves are irritated, bouts of pain, discoloration, temperature change and sweat change can occur. This is referred to as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (rsd). It is difficult to diagnose and difficult to treat. A thorough evaluation would be appropriate.
