Hives?: Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A primary care doctor or a dermatologist can examine a bumpy rash to see what it might be. Sometimes rashes are from an allergy to something (leading to hives), but many times they are not. For unusual rashes, a dermatologist will help. Causes of bumps include eczema, viral infections, allergies and autoimmune reactions, chemical irritants, etc...
