Gallstones: It depends. Some people can have gallstones that do not cause any problems at all, and others can have NO gallstones and still have problems with their gallbladder that are severe enough to require surgery. If the gallstones are interfering with biliary function or causing inflammation of the gallbladder, they can cause right upper quadrant pain and nausea. See your doctor if you are feeling sick.
